So, the pattern begins at the cuff and you knit in the round up the sleeve, you don't have to use two colors, I am because I have this yarn that I had intended to be put together in a sweater. Originally, I had a different idea in mind, but I got tired of that sweater idea before I had even cast on a stitch and then I found this pattern and I thought that there isn't a better use for this yarn! In any case, once you finish the sleeve you start to knit garter stitch, first still in the round and then you switch to back and forth knitting. This continues until half the sweater is done and then you put the stitches on holders and you start the process over again on the other side.
I'm almost done with the left side of the sweater. I had the stripes going four rounds of each color and it actually still is that way now that I'm doing garter stitch. But apparently the way the rounds worked out what is the correct outside face of the sweater turned out to be the incorrect side of the garter stitch. The inside of the sweater has the stripes continuing as they are in the sleeve:
I thought, oh well, I'm not ripping it all out to fix it that's for bloody sure! Also, I kind of like how the colors are actually blending together more on this "wrong" outside of the sweater. Those colors together is what got me started on the idea of a sweater for them in any case, so it make sense. Once I finish the other half I will Kitchner the two halves of the back together and then put a finishing band around the edges. Haven't decided if I'm going to do buttons or a clasp yet, I've still got time to figure it all out.
In other progress Winston and I are continuing with the C25K program. It is going pretty good, but I'm guessing my pace is slower than many others pace might be. Winston is sort of a reluctant jogger, he would much rather take his time and stroll, and sniff lots of stuff. He gives me dirty looks and huffs when we get to the place in our walk where I expect him to start jogging! It's funny! I try to placate him by letting him swim when we get to the lagoon.
