School's Out For Summer!

It's summer! Summer is finally here! Which means, I have more time for posting stuff on my blog. Yippee! I made it through the school year, through the seniors, through the freshmen, through piles of grading, through graduation, through my university classes, through cleaning and taking down my room, and through all the hoops involved in check out and I'm now FREE!

So, what does one do with all this new found freedom?? Well, I'm going to see this fella:
That is right - Sir Elton John is playing tonight in Anchorage, Alaska! And Dave and I have tickets to see him! Woohoo! We're pretty excited about it, in case that wasn't obvious. Sir Elton is playing three shows in Alaska: tonight in Anchorage, tomorrow in Fairbanks, and Friday in Anchorage. However, we had to get our tickets for tonight's show because tomorrow we leave town for the weekend so that we can go and see these guys:
We are traveling to Seattle and Portland to see back to back Rush shows! Rush has extended their Snakes and Arrows tour (great album, you should check it out) and they are playing on Saturday at the Gorge in George, Washington and then on Sunday they are playing at the Clark County Amphitheater outside Portland, Oregon. We will get to see the fabulous Sandy, the amazing Katie, the wonderful Wendi, the terrific Paul, and my good and fantastic friend Heather! In fact, the entire Roach clan will be down from Anchorage to attend the same two concerts! They are driving down in the VW Westfalia, Dave & I - we fly. Mainly because Dave doesn't get as much time off of work that I get so driving to Seattle isn't practical for him.

I have lots of knitting stuff to post but don't have the time to do it today. It will have to wait until I return from my trip. I'm currently taking a class at my LYS, The Yarn Branch, on how to knit two socks at one time on a circular needle - magic loop style. I just started last night, but so far, so good. I'm just happy to be posting anything again - hooray for summer!
